So the masquerade has started. It sure would be nice to participate, except wardrobes still aren't loading for a lot of people. Including me.

Oh, no!
I'm sorry!

I was wearing my masquerade mask anyway, just because it covered up my hideous zombieness while I got the last copies of books I needed, so I lucked in there. If I hadn't been and had gotten screwed out of masquerade (or days of it, whatever), I'd be completely peeved.

I wish I could help! :(

What gets me is that they KNEW this was a problem for a lot of people before they started the event. So why did they publish the event scripts before fixing the wardrobes? If you look on the forums you'll see lots of people saying they can't access their wardrobes, so it's not exactly an isolated problem. Why would you start the event knowing a huge chunk of people couldn't participate?? And right after site attacks and stuff? Let things stabilize first!

I'm pretty peeved. I think part of it comes from paying for GAs and having the site be screwed for so long while they don't really communicate to us about it.

I got just absolutely IRATE with them during the zombie thing- so mad that I avoided the site and almost didn't finish the plot (but I did because I wanted the beanbags and plushes, sigh)--- they had that TERRIBLE huge issue that lasted days, and when it ended, I had a day I couldn't play... then played and it was still lagging like CRAZY- I had to reload every page two or three times for it to work. I managed to get 10 darned splittifish, and then turned in my eleventh to start on getting the achievement with the title? Got 9 more, went to turn it in, and they'd taken away the option to.
I was livid. I spent ALL freaking day fighting the damned site and lag and reloading and whatnot catching junk and nothing to finally get my 20th, only to be out of luck. I know it's probably silly to be mad over, but when your site is having that many issues, don't start and end things like that- or if you do start, leave PLENTY of time. And I've had such a shitty year that getting frustrated at things on the internet is a waste of time, so I just quit going for a while.

SO glad I managed to cure up because if I'd had to keep looking at my zombieness and dwelling on that rage, I probably would have quit Subeta for a few months.
*grumbles angrily at them*

I get that it isn't easy to run a site and I'm always quick to defend them to people who get pissy, but it's one thing to run into issues- but to start/end things in the middle of the issues? Very frustrating.

That's my problem with them. Things happen and it really is difficult to run a website used by a couple thousand people, but they KNEW about these issues and put more server load on top of them by putting up event after event. That's just pure incompetence.

I don't even *really* mind knowing that the first day or so of an event will be rough- I'm glad they're getting that much traffic!
But in the case of ending something in it's midst or starting something that needs change and isn't accessible (a la your wardrobe issue) it's really just a slap in the face to users who are patient with them and don't bitch all the time, in my opinion.

One tip I found on facebook was to log in without the special cookie option checked - some people (including me) were able to access the wardrobe then. I logged out after putting on my mask and logged back in with the cookie box checked.

Yeah, I've already tried checking and unchecking it and it didn't make any difference for me and a lot of others. :(

Did you try alternate browsers? I've found that affects how I see the site sometimes when it's having issues.

I really don't want to have to log out and try Opera, but I might do that later after I'm done colouring this picture. But it's still something they really need to fix, it's a huge problem affecting lots of people and I've watched Keith reply on the forums about it, and he seems kinda dismissive.

I usually like Keith, but he does get really pissy and dismissive with people on some issues. :|

Same, I thought he was adorable and I liked that he seemed to interact on the forums somewhat often, but lately it feels like half the time he can't help but snark people with legit issues on the forums. I've watched him be pretty snotty to people when they really didn't deserve it, and he seems dismissive of suggestions that would actually take any effort to put in.

I really hope this is just Subeta having a shitty start to 2012 as well, and that it's not indicative to how the whole year will go- or worse, how it will be for good.
Still better than *cough* other sites *cough*--- but frustrating if it's an overall change.

I've been worried lately because I've noticed they've been pulling a Neo and focusing really hard on CSC items. Once you start down that road, it's hard to stop.
